Why Detailing your vehicle is Important

The difference between a normal Cleaning and a Detail is day and night. Cleaning your car normally consist of washing the exterior and vacuuming the interior. While detailing is *The process of restoring or exceeding the original condition of the vehicle. Which requires hours of work to get it done just right. Starting from the proper way of washing your vehicle to decontaminating the paint with a clay bar, polishing, and applying a wax or sealant to the surface. It also includes a deep clean of the interior from shampooing the seats or cleaning and conditioning the leather to cleaning all the cracks and crevices of the interior of the vehicle.

Whats the Process???

Prepping Your Vehicle

Washing your vehicle properly is the most important step. Making sure to remove any heavy dirt, stains, bugs, or debris will prepare for clay bar and waxing.

Decontaminating the Paint

Your vehicles painted surface is constantly outside in the open elements from overspray, brake dust, sap, and pollution that can't be removed from normal washing. Its the rough dirty feeling thats still on the paint even after washing it. The goal is to bring it back to that super smooth clean feeling.

What is a Clay Bar

Auto detailing clay is an engineered resin compound to remove contaminates from a cars painted surface, glass, fiberglass, and metal. Providing a super smooth and clean surface letting your wax or sealant last much longer when applied.

Polishing is the process of refining and smoothing down a surface to create a brighter cleaner shine and for car paint it removes majority of the scratches and swirls created by improper detailing or washing. It smoothes and evens out the top clear coat of the paint using compound with light to heavy abrasives to cut down into the paint.

Waxes and Sealants

Waxes can be a natural product from carnauba plants or synthetic from silicone. they provide a protective layer that repels water, bugs, dirt, and helps fight against the UV rays from the sun. They will also help fill in minor scratches to make the paint much clearer, but thats only a temporary solution for the wax will soon fade and the scratch will come up again.  Normally they will last roughly 2-4 months. Thats why its recommended to have you vehicle detailed at least 2-3 times a year. Sealants are a much higher grade synthetic compound to create a higher shine and longer lasting protection from the elements that can last up to 6-12 months.
